Duties: - Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and dietary guidelines provided by the Dietary Department - Ensure that all food is prepared and served in a safe and sanitary manner, following proper food safety protocols - Assist with meal planning and menu development, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and preferences - Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen and timely meal service - Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of food items and cleaning of kitchen equipment - Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed Skills: - Culinary skills: Proficient in various cooking techniques, including knife skills, sautéing, baking, grilling, etc.
- Food safety knowledge: Familiarity with proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices to ensure food safety - Attention to detail: Ability to follow recipes accurately and measure ingredients precisely - Time management: Efficiently manage time to ensure timely meal preparation and service - Communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate with team members and dietary aides to coordinate meal preparation Note: Previous experience working in a restaurant or catering environment is preferred but not required.
Training will be provided for candidates who demonstrate a willingness to learn and a passion for culinary arts.
