*Kitchen Manager Job Description *
*Identifying Information: *10-month position, part-time, 6 hours a day
*Pay:* $17-$20/hr
*Job Summary*: The kitchen manager is responsible for preparing and serving healthy meals according to the National School Lunch Program guidelines for brunch/lunch.
*Supervisor*: Principal and Assistant Principal
*Job Duties/Responsibilities:*
_Brunch/Lunch Preparation_
* Implements and applies Federal and State school lunch policies, procedures, and guidelines to manage the food service operation
* Prepares lunch for around 80 students
* Maintains current knowledge of nutrition, food quality, sanitation, and mechanical operations of the food services program
* Maintains a clean working environment
* Uses a computer to maintain/create menus, review quotes, inventory, and meal counts
* Maintains an organized freezer, refrigerator, and dry goods
* Meets standards necessary to meet the National School Lunch Program and county health inspections
* Orders food and supplies necessary for the food program
*Qualifications:*
* High school diploma or GED equivalent
* Obtains/maintains current Safe Serve certification
* Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
* Ability to follow oral and written instructions
* Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing
* Ability to work in diverse groups
* Ability to encourage students
* Ability to maintain high activity level and perform physically demanding tasks
* Ability to stand and walk on hard flooring for prolonged periods of time
* Ability to apply minimum work exerting up to 50 pounds or more of force occasionally, and or up to 20 pounds or more of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
* Ability to withstand a variety of temperatures
* Ability to work with and/or around chemical cleaning agents
