Dietary Team Leader

Seeking an experienced, dynamic leader for our Dietary Team! Under the guidance of the Dietary Manager and Dietitian, the Team Leader serves in a role in providing customer and food service to the skilled and assisted care residents.
In the absence of the Dietary Manager or Dietitian, the Dietary Team Leader will be the point person for the health care buildings.
Essential Duties Processes data from new admissions, diet changes, menus, and food production charts.
Monitors and reports discrepancies regarding standards of staff, menu requirements, and sanitation or customer service.
Visits new admissions to review the food preferences and explain selective menus.
Visit with residents at mealtime to ensure their satisfaction.
Provides menus at the resident's place in the dining room for ordering.
Assumes the responsibility to fill the position of an absent dietary aide.
Portions and serves the resident their meals according to physician's diet order and providing foods requested by the resident, serving modified diets as required.
Clears, washes and sanitizes all dishes and utensils.
Sets and resets tables according to procedure.
Ensures proper standards of dress attire for staff is upheld.
Adheres to rules in sanitation, safety and security practices in accordance with the standards established by the facility and maintains a schedule for cleaning of health care equipment used to provide food service.
Assists in the implementation of selective menus and production work sheets.
Assists stocking of necessary health care food supplies and determines that correct entrees are made on the weekly Health Care Supply Requisition Sheet.
Assists in the orientation and on-the-job training of newly employed Health Care Dietary Aides and instructs personnel in the use, care, and maintenance of equipment used to provide food service to the residents.
Mentors new staff and sign off on orientation.
Leads by example and follows all outlined policies and procedures, taking initiative to solve identified issues.
Supervisory Responsibilities Assists with the supervision of employees in the Dietary Department.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
In the absence of the Dietary Manager, the Team Leader assumes all responsibility for the management and operations of Dietary and Food Services; this applies to both the skilled nursing and assisted living facilities.
Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; Must have one year experience in the food service department; Must know the standards of food service and customer needs.
SafeStaff or ServSafe certified a plus.
Language Skills Must be able to speak, read and write English in order to read, analyze, and interpret reports, procedure manuals, and all other written and verbal communications.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
