The African Caribbean American (AFCAAM) Center of Catholic Charities provides Lee County residents with a variety of programs that focus on reading, positive youth development, mentoring, socialization, family engagement and community outreach.
Job Responsibilities
Assists with first line of sight supervision.
Assists with coordination of activities for the daily program for the children.
Assist children with assignments and homework, such as reading, writing, and math.
To include usage of Renaissance learning program.
Organize learning materials and equipment, such as books, arts and crafts, stationery, and other supplies as needed for after-school, out of school days and summer program.
Provide a nurturing environment conducive to children's needs, abilities, interests, temperaments, and learning styles.
Interact with children to provide guidance and motivation to complete tasks.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Assure strict confidentiality standards are enforced and client information secured.
Maintain a safe environment and reports safety hazards.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director, provides administrative support as needed.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Experience working in an after-school program setting with children grades K-8
Must have well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to use technology to enhance student learning
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred
