*Desired Qualification/Experience Requirements:*
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, or national criteria for alternative preparation and qualifications.
- Director credential Level 1 or higher with the state of Florida Department of Children and Families - Experience teaching within an early childhood education program - Good physical and mental health *Responsibilities:* _*Spiritual Leadership*_ - Provide opportunities for spiritual growth of staff - Provide ways to incorporate early childhood program families into church, and church families into the early childhood program - Maintain positive relationships among children, teachers, parents, congregation and the community - Provide referrals for Christian counseling for staff and families _*Mission and Purpose*_ - Know and carry out the mission and purpose of the programs; further the vision of Saint Michael - Work with the ministry team to develop and carry out policies of the program - Work cooperatively with the pastors and church staff - Represent program in congregational activities - Inform parents orally and in writing through monthly newsletters _*Finances*_ - Prepare annual budget - Track and provide quarterly budget update reports to finance dept.
- Operate within budget - purchase equipment and supplies - Arrange for and oversee collection of fees and tuition - Develop and oversee third source funding through gifts, grants and fundraising - Budget for staff raises and benefits annually - Provide school board with local tuition data annually to aid in tuition increases - Maintain records for playground account, reconcile quarterly _*Communication and Relationships With Parents*_ - Develop parent-school communication (newsletters) - Orient with parents to school policies and procedures - Plan and administer parent education/fellowship programs - Facilitate parent/ staff conferences _*Recruit and Enroll New Children*_ - Promote early childhood program in congregation and community - Make personal contact with prospective families - Provide enrollment materials that reflect program’s goals - Create and maintain publicity materials and activities - Keep enrollment spreadsheets organized, track future open enrollment spots - Prepare tuition contracts, track signatures and keep electronic and paper files _*Environment and Safety Conditions*_ - Conform to and exceed all regulations required by the state - Provide environment appropriate for young children reflecting Christian mission - Monitor all classroom and playground conditions to ensure safety, organization and cleanliness - Arrange for necessary repairs and maintenance - Arrange for custodial care in cooperation with the congregation - Plan for and conduct disaster and fire drills - Keep health history/immunization records for children and staff - Maintain referral system for children who have special needs - Maintain playground and schedule upkeep maintenance - Maintain common areas of building including storage closets, bathrooms, halls, resource room and cafeteria for organization and cleanliness _*Supervise and Assist Staff*_ - Prepare job descriptions for all staff - Recruit and hire staff - Provide orientation for new staff members - Provide for staff supervision and professional growth development - Review staff performance at least annually - Plan age-appropriate, Christ-centered, faith-integrated curriculum - Help staff prepare program plans consistent with curriculum - Plan and implement procedures to keep accurate classroom records - Plan and devise student evaluations that reflect individual progress and abilities - Supervise classroom schedules, space and equipment, responsibilities of the staff and the calendar - Prepare and update staff handbook - Keep personnel records - Develop and maintain resource library for staff - Organize staff time off and keep records of full time staff paid time off - Prepare staff work schedules and organize subs - Review staff timesheet and sign off before getting them to HR _*Personal Growth*_ - Periodically evaluate own work as director - Maintain membership in NAEYC - Participate in local and district director meetings, conferences, and workshops _*Fundraising and Special Events*_ - Plan and organize all fundraising events - Advertise and sell event tickets - Keep detailed records of all income and outgoing expenses - Schedule use of space on campus for events - Plan special seasonal event days for all classes.
(ex: fall day, winter day) - Plan special events for the families (ex: Christmas party, Pirate Dinner) - Plan special lunches and appreciation opportunities for staff throughout the year _*Shut Down Week*_ -Schedule all shut down week CPR and first aid training - Prepare for staff continued education classes - Plan building painting, maintenance and deep cleaning of all areas - Manage open house events _*General Office Duties*_ -Keep all staff and student files up to date and in state compliance -Update all student file disclosures yearly - Monitor incoming calls and questions from current and prospective families Job Type: Full-time Pay: $34,000.
