Seakeeper is the world leader in vessel stabilization and our portfolio of Seakeeper Ride products are taking the world by storm! As our Seakeeper Ride Vice President of Engineering, you’ll be responsible for commercializing variants of our underway stabilization technology by overseeing our product development and R&D teams in addition to the shared embedded systems vertical.
This is a hypergrowth product and a visionary role that will help us forever change the boating industry by: Providing visionary leadership and direction to the Seakeeper Ride product, embedded systems, and R&D engineering teams Participating in technical discussions, providing strategic prioritization and risk management guidance Taking ownership of our 5-year product development roadmap: Identifying and incorporating meaningful product enhancements Developing models to improve our ability to project specifications and cost Identifying risks and creatively maneuvering around them Becoming a Seakeeper Ride technology expert through multiple engineering disciplines, including controls, embedded software/hardware and electronics design, mechanical design, and hydrodynamics Participating in technical discussions and documentation reviews and promoting a data driven and curious culture If there’s a technical challenge your team can’t overcome, you’ll dive into the details and identify resources that can get them beyond the challenge Hiring, mentoring, developing, and leading a team of multi-disciplined engineers Facilitating world class time to market without sacrificing product quality Acting as the primary product representative for executive level discussion and decision making WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED MUST-HAVES Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering Senior level technical contributing experience predominantly working within a controls and/or embedded software/hardware environment including: 10+ years of progressive work experience in a product development role with full project ownership of multiple product launches 5+ years direct people leadership experience managing multiple engineering disciplines with proven success developing those individuals into future engineering leaders Be energized by mentoring more junior engineers Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable, and facilitate discussions and reach compromises amongst other senior engineers while triaging competing priorities Agile with the ability to pivot quickly to changing circumstances and business demands Ability to effectively and impactfully communicate across all levels including addressing complicated technical problems in a digestible and non-misleading way from the front line to the executive team MORE DETAILS YOU’LL WANT TO KNOW This position is based in our Ft.
Myers, FL office You’ll report to the President & CEO and be a part of our senior leadership team Travel up to 15% of the time YOUR TEAM Our Vice President of Engineering is the leader of a multi-disciplined team of best-in-class engineers.
This team manages projects through an Agile workflow that allows maximum exposure to a variety of projects and systems within the group.
