X-Ray Technician

_*Duties/Responsibilities:*_ * X-ray patients.
* Enter patient list into equipment daily.
* Enter orders for each exam in computer.
* Pull and file X-ray CD’s.
* Maintain CD Library (CD film log) .
* Log incoming and outgoing CD’s from both ours and other facilities.
* Handle phone calls regarding copies of X-ray.
* Room patients.
* Assist Medical Assistants with suture/staple removal, casting and splinting when necessary.
* Burn CD’s when requested.
* Assist with coverage in the procedure room when necessary.
* Upload ultrasound images to PACS.
* Performs related work as required and other projects and duties as assigned.
_*Required Skills/Abilities:*_ * High school diploma or equivalent.
* Certification/Licensure: Basic x-ray license.
* Proficiency in operation of x-ray procedures.
* Must have knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to orthopedics and knowledge of medical office procedures.
* Medical terminology.
* Ability to process patients and public inquiries and respond with poise and efficiency.
* Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve and correct errors.
* Basic typing and keyboarding skills.
* Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
* Experience with customer service.
* Familiarity with computers and other office equipment.
* Ability to prioritize responsibilities * Must be able to act calmly and effectively in busy or stressful situations.
* Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.
* Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and peers.
* Maintains accurate and strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA Compliance of electronic and/or manual systems as established by the appropriate HIPAA protocols, regulations, and policies.
_*Physical Requirements:*_ * Frequent mobility and/or standing, bending and stooping are required for extended periods of time.
* Requires occasional lifting up to 25-50 pounds unassisted or assisting patients into desired position for examination.
* Requires manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment.
* Occasional high stress work related situations may require dealing with angry or potentially aggravated people.
* Ability to view computer screens for long periods of time.
