Please help! (Fort Myers)

Please help! I just moved to Florida from MO and am struggling to find a place to live here! I am not a rich person and I can’t afford anything decent in this area that is in my budget! And what I can afford is horrible.
Dirty, sketchy, and unsafe places is all I can afford.
I am in a really bad situation and I need help! I understand that everyone wants more money but is anyone out there ethical??? Anyone out there cares more about helping people than about filling their pocket??? I can pay solidly every month with no problem.
But not the insane rent amounts people charge here.
It’s inhumane.
I am a perfect roommate.
Very quiet, super clean and respectful.
And I am looking for the same.
