Job Summary:
As a Pipe Layer, you will be a critical member of our pipe crew, responsible for the precise and safe installation of water, sewer, and drainage systems.
Your expertise will ensure that pipes are laid accurately, adhering to project plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Pipe Installation: Precisely install pipes according to project plans, blueprints, and design specifications, ensuring proper alignment and grade.
Safety: Strictly adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team, as well as compliance with regulatory requirements.
Trenching and Excavation Support: Assist in trenching and excavation tasks, as needed, to prepare the work area for pipe installation.
Material Handling: Safely handle pipes, materials, and equipment required for the project, positioning them accurately for installation.
Quality Control: Ensure that pipe installation work meets project standards and design specifications, including proper bedding and backfilling.
Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with the pipe crew, Pipe Crew Foreman, and other team members to coordinate pipe laying activities and achieve project goals.
Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and supervisors, reporting progress, challenges, and any issues as needed.
Problem Solving: Identify and address operational challenges or issues that may arise during pipe laying and related tasks.
Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and care of tools and equipment used for pipe installation.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Pipe Layer in the construction industry.
Proficiency in pipe installation techniques, including proper bedding and backfilling.
Knowledge of construction plans, blueprints, and underground utility installation procedures.
Strong commitment to safety and strict adherence to safety protocols.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and at different job sites as required.
