We are currently seeking an HVAC/Plumbing Estimator to join our team comprised of creative and energetic employees who are dedicated to delivering the best experience every day.
The ideal candidate will have seven (7) years of experience in commercial, multi-family and hospitality HVAC/plumbing estimating process.
*Responsibilities* * Draft proposals, request for information, budgets, cash flows and preliminary schedules * Review and evaluate cost estimates * Communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects * Prepare estimates and purchase orders in detail for all products * Communicates with customers concerning issues with project specifications, project scope, reports, value engineering possibilities, timelines, or other items pertaining to a bid * Monitor all addenda, scope changes and breakouts to ensure they are processed and incorporated into the estimate promptly * Understand the scope of work * Manage bid pricing from all vendors * Prepare cost analysis * Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors * Calling and emailing vendors for quotes, qualifications, and other information * Updating vendor/subcontractor information on company database * Assist in prequalification of new vendor/subcontractors * Generate “Start Package” containing the job scope, contract, prints, schedules, expectations, and special conditions * Perform an official “handoff” meeting with the General Superintendent * Proof reading and assembling final proposal and bid submission for owners * Ensure timely completion of estimates and maintain company current bid list * Process change orders * Coordination with engineering and drafting team * General assistance to accounting, estimating and construction staff, as required (invoice confirmations) * Ensures software and pricing updates are made in a timely fashion * Document control: receive, file, track, and distribute all construction documents * Coordinating meetings and preparing minutes * Gather submittal from subcontractors/vendors and prepare the closeout documents for each project * Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the project team *Qualifications:* * Seven (7) years of experience in commercial, multi-family and hospitality HVAC/plumbing estimating process * Knowledge of building codes and electrical, plumbing and mechanical related codes * Must know the laws and ordinances regulating building construction * Strong negotiating skills with suppliers and trade partners * Skilled in reading and interpreting plans and specifications * Must be comfortable working with technology, strong analytical skills, and an eye for detail * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Must be detailed, self-motivated and organized with good people skills and a positive attitude * Fully competent in all conventional aspects of subject matter or functional area Job Type: Full-time Pay: $60,000.
