Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor is currently searching for a Banquet Captain! Here at Sunseeker Resorts, you will have the chance to experience more than 60,000sq.
ft.
of modern and new state of the art installations.
You will be overseeing events, handle and delegate set-up and breakdown of function rooms and take care of the customer in an efficient and friendly manner.
The Banquet Captain will lead the entire banquet staff to ensure the high-quality execution of receptions and events involving a unique Banquet food and beverage service; You will be the link with the servers and the kitchen staff and assists in management operations.
All duties are performed in accordance with department and Sunseeker Resorts policies, practices, and procedures.
Job Duties Coordinates quality of food service between cooking staff and floor staff.
Slices garnishes and prepares decorative arrangements.
Enforces all policies and food service regulations.
Reviews seating diagrams for acceptability and accuracy.
Delegates duties to team members for each event.
Helps validate customers’ IDs and monitors all beverage consumption.
Resolves guests’ concerns, inquiries, and complaints.
Maintains detailed reports for management and develops an accurate bill for service.
Enforces an atmosphere of culture and refinement.
Monitors food service to limit food wastage or contamination.
Manages food materials, inventory, and all operating materials.
Maintains the cleanliness of the banquet floor, the kitchen, and storage areas.
Check buffet tables/receptions/coffee breaks for cleanliness, attractiveness, and layout.
Ensure agreement with banquet event order and departmental standards and resolve any problems.
Ensure replenishment of items as specified on banquet event orders and requested by function contact.
Total all outstanding charges for the function, prepare check and present to function contact for payment adhering to all cashiering procedures/policies.
Ensure that unused food is returned to the kitchen, that designated condiments are broken down and properly stored and all banquet supplies are returned to designated storage areas.
Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale.
Complete all paperwork and closing duties in accordance with departmental standards.
Review status of assignments and any follow-up action with Banquet Manager and/or oncoming Supervisor Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to Supervisor / Banquet Manager immediately.
Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
Display knowledge of basic bar terminology, wine service, and physical capabilities of banquet space.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements Combination of Education and Experience will be considered.

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Minimum of one (1) year hospitality experience as a Banquet Captain or similar role Other Minimum Requirements Excellent customer service skills, superior interpersonal skills with acute sense of detail Working knowledge of Delphi, PMS systems, Word, Excel, Outlook Strong team player with a results-oriented attitude Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to function well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlines.
Must possess mature personal discretion and sound judgment.
Professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to all grooming and uniform guidelines, including slip resistant shoes.
Excellent customer service skills and an ability to communicate effectively, in English (via phone and in-person) Strong self-motivation, leadership, and organizational skills Ability to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations.
Proficiency required in reading, writing, and mathematics, in English.
