We are currently seeking a skilled Senior Estimator to become part of and help lead our Estimating dept!
The primary responsibility of this position is to estimate all assigned commercial and residential projects as well as any residential replacement calls in a timely fashion while maintaining accuracy within Conditioned Air’s scope of services.
Responsibility is to work effectively with team members in the Estimating Dept.
to accomplish all goals and produce estimates on time and in an accurate manner.
This position assists in maintaining and creating all department structures, operations and personnel.
The Estimator independently performs most assignments with minimal instructions but may require general technical guidance on more complex routine tasks, unusual or complex problems, or acclimation to local conditions.
This position is expected to help mentor/coach/supervise less experienced staff to help them develop their technical skills regarding estimating, documentation, HVAC technical knowledge, processes, procedures as well as understanding the high level of customer service.
This is an in-office position in our Fort Myers office with no remote option.
Hours are typically m-f, 8am-5pm with an hour lunch.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
• Gathering, calculating and compiling take off data for use in bid proposal estimates.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy.
• Attend turnover meetings with project staff to communicate the unique aspects of the project to the installation team.
• Prepare change order work for ongoing projects when requested.
• Work with other departments as directed in the preparation of estimates.
• Have and develop strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers and have a solid understanding of their capabilities.
• Review estimates and make changes as needed.
• Handle most complex estimating bids and projects, Residential and Light Commercial.
• Required to run residential calls and use ladders.

Required Skills/qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years construction industry estimating and designing experience for residential HVAC and light commercial with computerized estimating software
• Strong conceptual estimating experience required.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Proficient with computer, internet and software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), Wrightsoft (AutoCAD LT, Fast Duct and Energy Gauge a plus)
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Attention to detail in typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
