General Job Description: Edmonson Electric a division of IES Residential is currently seeking Director of Construction for our Fort Myers, FL location! Responsibilities of a Director of Construction Responsible for Branch management, ensuring that all Residential Electrical processes and procedures are being implemented as per company policy.
Overseeing the branch needs with the assistance of the Branch Manager and Service Manager.
Forecasting future needs for the company, including employee recruitment.
Specific Qualifications: Duties/Responsibilities: Maintain open communication with builders, business partners and staff.
Cover for Branch Managers in their absence.
Oversee the recruitment of field personnel.
Request new work vehicles and report issues with current Company vehicles to Fleet Manager.
Approve all invoices to be paid for the branch, verifying work is completed.
Handle escalated issues from the branch and resolve issues in an expedited manner.
Work with Warehouse Manager to ensure warehouses are stocked appropriately.
Communicate, distribute, and post important policy or spec changes to all staff at the branch.
Review OT report and communicate with Branch Managers and Field Employees the company over time policies.
Review all back charges, discuss with Branch Managers, Field Supervisors and Field Employees, follow up on and verify crews are back charged.
Handle all disciplinary action for the branch (terminations and write ups).
Attend meetings with builders or customers as needed.
Assist Field Supervisors and Branch Managers with complex issues.
Communicate with and ensure the Service Manager is meeting Company commitments to our customers including abiding to schedules and turnaround time.
Communicate daily with Branch Managers regarding workload and schedule.
Continue to develop and grow the branch by thinking outside of the box and solving problems to allow the branch to be more productive, accurate and efficient.
Assist Managers, Supervisors, or Service with dispatching or rerouting crews in the event an emergency arrives.
Review and submit employees and subcontractor’s Pay Sheets.
Work with the Human Resources and Safety Team regarding policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities: Residential Electrical knowledge.
Able to supervise and direct others.
Minimum of 5 years of management experience in the Electrical Field.
Ability to assess and resolve issues as they arise.
Able to delegate job tasks and follow up ensuring jobs are completed.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally to trade partners, builders, employees etc.
Must be computer literate (e.
g.
Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
) Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 30 pounds when needed.
Must have clean driving record.
Able to work in office environment for prolonged periods of time.
Able to go on the field and meet with business partners as needed.
