Turner Staffing Group - Heavy Equipment Manager (Construction & Mining Class)
Position Overview
The Heavy Equipment Manager's primary responsibility is to lead and oversee the heavy equipment fleets for all civil and mining operations.
This will include managing the operational and financial performance of the fleets, creating processes to ensure rapid yet responsible growth is achieved, and implementing systems and tools to increase efficiency and ensure profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee fleet operations for all mining projects
Responsible for P&L to Gross Profit for all heavy equipment fleet under management
Identify and understand the key financial and operational metrics for success
Oversee heavy equipment fleet operations for safety and compliance
Responsible for leading fields teams to increase performance
Analyze and create business division reporting and metrics reviews
Coordinate heavy equipment fleet for scheduling, planning, and resources
Monitor forward-looking personnel requirements and vendor developments
Negotiate and manage client and vendor relationships
Approve appropriate invoices and proposal submissions
Coordinate, evaluate, and approve new project proposals with Biz Dev & Estimation Team
Essential Skills & Knowledge
Detailed understanding of heavy equipment for mining operations
General understanding of business leadership
Ability to oversee operational and organizational performance for heavy equipment fleet
Solid understanding of financial and operational reporting
Ability to succinctly and clearly quantify and explain variances to owners and executives
Proficiency in heavy equipment fleet best practices to perform project management
Intelligent with demonstrated results from creativity
Willingness to learn what is takes to run a growing and successful services business
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skill
Gifted multitasker who can prioritize and balance competing initiatives and activities
Knack for continuous improvement of processes and outcomes
