Summary:
Perform tasks involving physical labor at roads/highway/residential/commercial and heavy construction projects.
Utilize a variety of hand and power tools.
Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials.
May assist other craft workers.
Essential Functions:
Perform a variety of duties on construction projects, transferring from one task to another as directed by Supervisor
Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch tight line
Bolt, nail, align, and block-up under forms
Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications
Level earth to fine grade specifications using pick and shovel
Mix concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials, as needed
Perform variety of tasks involving dexterity and use of tools, such as demolishing, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, cleaning debris, and cutting and attaching insulating material
Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards
Assist in the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices.
Control traffic at work sites by flagging to guide traffic through work areas, as required or assigned
Material handling and storage
Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials
Other Functions:
Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman, Safety Specialist, or Human Resources Manager.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.

Job Requirements:
Valid Driver’s License
High School Diploma, GED, Trade School or the equivalent preferred
Manual dexterity
Safety minded
Ability to work under strenuous conditions
Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
