SUPERINTENDENT
SUMMARY: Responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and supervising the quality of all work performed by Bonness Inc.
Responsible for multiple jobs’ profitability, on-time scheduling, and general success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Supervision & Development:
- Supervise Foremen to ensure that jobs are built within budget, schedule, and specifications
- Develop, motivate, discipline, and direct Foremen and Labor to ensure an efficient and effective operation
- Coordinate training and/or train Foremen in the proper use and operation of equipment
- Schedule and coordinate labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment for jobs
- Ensure that work is performed as scheduled
- Inspect all final products and communicate the results to Foremen
- Timely and accurate completion of all administrative paperwork
• Job Costing:
- Supply Foremen with the proper plans, scope of work, and estimated costs on the job; review the job prior to job start.
- Ensure that Foremen maintain accurate timekeeping records for both their crews and equipment
- Minimize overtime by setting challenging but realistic goals, daily and weekly, for the Superintendents and Foremen
- Review job cost reports weekly with Superintendents and Foremen to provide feedback and set expectations
- Recommend foreseen change orders to the owner or general contractor as early as possible
• Customer Service:
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with all customers
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints regarding scheduling or work quality
• Safety:
- Ensure that a safe work environment is maintained in accordance with company Safety Policies
- Report all safety violations and accidents to Supervisor and Safety Director immediately
- Fill out Accident Investigation reports
- Responsible for daily maintenance checks on vehicles and equipment that will be used by your crews
- Responsible for the proper MOT on jobsites
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma
• Five to ten years' experience in road constructions
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans
• Ability to coordinate and run meetings with contractors and developers
• Leadership skills
• Valid Driver’s License
