Job Summary
Provides technical support to the County’s information system’s network.
Work involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network hardware, software, and related peripheral equipment; monitoring network operations; managing user access and accounts; performing database management duties; and providing user training.
Essential Functions
Installs varied hardware, software, and peripheral equipment for the information systems network, including the installation and configuration of servers, switches, UPS, software, printers, and routers.
Manages the establishment and maintenance of user accounts to include establishing user access to the network, and the type and level of access and connectivity (i.
e.
, user’s ability to send data, to access the internet to use specific software applications, printers, etc.
); maintains network connections for the constitutional officers.
Monitor network operations: ensures the network is operating effectively and that its data and access are secured; identifies and troubleshoots hardware and software problems; analyzes network operations, compatibility and connectivity, and other parameters/characteristics; identifies potential problems which could result in network downtime; and develops and implements preventive measures as appropriate.
Develops and implements Network software and related applications as needed.
Coordinates the delivery of goods and services with vendors; and resolves problems with vendor service and/or products.
Research and acquire quotes for purchases of new software/solutions/equipment: PCs multimedia, projector, cameras, microphones, computer accessories, furniture.
Performs general clerical work in support of assigned duties.
Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree required.
Three (3) years of related experience.
Candidates without a degree should possess two (2) additional years of related experience.
Fingerprinting required.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATES
Employees in Information Technology (IT) Division:
Employees in this classification in the Information Technology (IT) division must possess the foundation certification in the current version of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or obtain such certification within two (2) years of entry into this classification.
Incumbents in the IT division will be required to re-certify in new versions of ITIL within two (2) years of the date of acceptance of that version by the Division Director – Information Technology.

Salary offers above the minimum pay grade may be considered based on qualifications.
Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared or declared emergency.
The County’s Administrative Office will determine who will be required to work on an incident-by-incident basis.
