*Position Summary: *This position is responsible for developing, reviewing, and maintaining distribution design, material, and construction standards.
Will provide technical support to the design, construction, and maintenance work groups.
Will also serve as the subject matter expert for the design and workflow applications.
*Position Responsibilities:* * Serve as the engineering subject matter expert for NISC design and workflow applications.
* Develop and maintain Distribution Design procedures including, but not limited to: * Design Operations Manual * Distribution Engineering Manual * Electric Service and Meter Requirements Handbook * Possess working knowledge of ANSI/IEEE, NESC, and NEC standards as applied to electric distribution systems.
* Familiarity with RUS distribution standards.
* Chair the Standards Practices Committee.
* Develop and maintain Distribution Construction Standards, including drawings, material lists, and installation specifications.
* Ensure that the Distribution Construction Standards adhere to applicable safety standards.
* Research new products and technologies that will enhance the distribution system operational performance.
* Evaluate the performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness of proposed material/equipment for use on LCEC’s distribution system.
Often leading an evaluation committee of engineering and construction peers.
* Periodically review distribution construction standards for accuracy and relevance.
Identify opportunities for the upgrade or replacement of infrastructure components that have become obsolete or discontinued.
* Investigate the root cause of distribution system material and equipment failures.
Sometimes working with the manufacturer or a third-party testing facility.
* Work with vendors to resolve material or equipment deficiencies or failures.
* Prepare purchase specifications for distribution materials and equipment.
* Provide technical guidance and training on distribution standards and practices to the design, construction, and maintenance departments.
* Maintain effective working relationships with contractors and LCEC employees, customers and other stakeholders.
Ensure smooth operations, productive communications, and effective understanding during interpersonal communications.
Provide current and accurate information to all requests, courteously and in a timely manner.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
*Required & Desired Qualifications (by level)* *General Requirements for all levels:* * Demonstrated understanding of LCEC or other electric utility construction processes & standards.
* Ability to successfully resolve customer or contractor issues and design problems.
* Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with all levels within and outside of the organization.
* Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and demands.
* Ability to work effectively in high-energy and fast-paced environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Must possess skills operating a PC and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, a work management system, and design/mapping software.
* Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license (within 30 days of becoming a Florida resident) *Associate Engineer: Required Qualifications:* * B.

in EET with 2 years related experience.

* Two (2) years’ experience in power engineering profession.
*Engineer I: Required Qualifications:* * B.

in Engineering (prefer electrical or power).
* Three (3) years engineering experience.
* Two (2) years’ experience in power engineering profession.
* One (1) year experience in E&O engineering role.
*Engineer I: Desired Qualifications:* * Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Licensed professional engineer.
*Engineer II: Required Qualifications:* * B.

in Engineering (prefer electrical or power).
* Seven (7) years engineering experience.
* Five (5) years’ experience in power engineering profession.
* Three (3) years’ experience in E&O engineering role - multiple roles & rotations (e.
g.
reliability, protection, planning, etc.
).
*Engineer II: Desired Qualifications:* * Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Licensed professional engineer.
*Senior Engineer: Required Qualifications:* * B.
S.
in Engineering (prefer electrical or power).
* Fifteen (15) years engineering experience.
* Ten (10) years’ experience in power engineering profession.
* Seven (7) years’ experience in E&O engineering role - multiple roles & rotations in at least two areas & qualified to fill in multiple functions (e.
g.
reliability, protection, planning, etc.
).
* Demonstrated leadership experience.
*Senior Engineer: Desired Qualifications:* * Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Licensed professional engineer.
* Recognition in the profession as a specialist in field (teaching, writing).
* Experience in multiple areas of electrical engineering.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $77,832.
00 - $129,720.
